Évora

Having always been an important city to the Romans, the Moors and to the Portuguese Court, Évora have an important monumental heritage in a limited space – its Historical Center.
Évora’s Golden Age occurs between the end of the XVI century and the half of the XVII century, during witch the building where PENSÃO POLICARPO is located was builded.
Évora’s Historical Centre has been classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986.
Évora can be seen, for several reasons, as a living heritage.

The Region

Alentejo is the biggest Portuguese region, with its rural character (culture of cereals, olive oil and cork), as well as its minings (marble, granite and shale).
